Macbeth: 9 Scenes Rehearsed

by Ninefold

Macbeth: 9 Scenes Rehearsed was Ninefold's first foray in the exercise and application of the Suzuki Method of Actor Training in the Australian theatre-making context. All the horror and passion of Shakespeare’s Macbeth was condensed into nine selected scenes examined, rehearsed, and performed through the lens of the Suzuki Method of Actor Training. Focused on qualities of stillness, energy and breath ‘Macbeth: 9 Scenes Rehearsed’ delivered the power and density, richness and delicacy of Shakespeare's language.

This was an experiment in sustained actor training and a work-in progress exploring the application of The Suzuki Method both to the Australian performer and the power of Macbeth.

"Director Shy Magsalin’s application of the Suzuki Method (to which I claim no expertise**) has created an evening of theatre that is beautiful to watch and bewitching to listen to...this is fascinating stuff." - Theatre Red (read full review)
